Green Iguana (confirm introduction )
The appearance of many small lizards is very similar to that of snakes. The main reason is that the lizards have lived in caves for a long time and their limbs have degenerated and their bodies have become as slender as snakes. But no matter how they change, lizards and snakes still have some differences. The important differences between basilisks and snakes are as follows:
1. Basilisks have eyelids that can be closed; snakes do not.
2. More than two-thirds of the body length of a snake lizard is its tail; a snake's tail is shorter than its body.
3. Basilisks have external ear holes; snakes do not.
4. The body of the snake lizard is covered with brittle and hard square scales, arranged in a ring, and the abdominal scales are small and multi-row; the snake's abdominal scales are large and single-row, and there are remnants of hind limbs on both sides of the cloaca.
5. The tail of a snake lizard is easy to break automatically; a snake will not cut off its tail on its own.
